Highlights include:

  • Caring for your own elephant and participating in life within a working elephant village
  • Wildlife spotting with experts in Thailand’s Khao Yai National Park
  • Exploring Kung Wiman’s coastal environment, whilst staying in an award winning eco-retreat with fabulous massage on offer
  • Delicious Thai cooking
  • A day free to ‘choose your own adventure’ in exotic Bangkok

Elephants are the backbone of Thailand. They have worked in partnership with people for over 4000 years and are now threatened with extinction due to environmental pressures and cultural change. For seven days, you will have your own elephant to care for under the guidance of an experienced mahout. Staying in a working elephant village outside Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Siam, you will also visit local temples and markets and enjoy a long-tail boat tour of the island.

Khao Yai National Park is one of Thailand’s oldest and best known National Parks. Guided by experts, we may be lucky enough to spot gibbons, bird species including hornbills, Samba and Barking deer. We will look for wild elephants and learn about the difficulties they currently face and efforts being made to ensure their future in modern Thailand.
